This syllabus has been designed to meet the requirements of professional bodies and industries while giving students the competitive edge. Emphasis is on the application of knowledge through teamwork, case studies, simulations and real life projects.
Foundation in Engineering is designed to prepare you for professional careers and to further your study to Bachelor Degree in the related engineering field. We adopt comprehensive and innovative content and teaching techniques, which are designed towards expanding the frontiers of learning and inculcating a probing mind. You will be challenged to develop into multi-skilled professionals possessing mental, intellectual and emotional fortitude to succeed in life.
The curricula, further enhanced with project work, lab experiments and practical training, are designed with inputs from several reputable sources. A strong foundation in Engineering is a well-established balance between theory and experiments during the one year of study. The curriculum consists of a good mix of general subjects as well as core engineering subjects.
50 credit hours of subjects are being taught in three semesters. This Foundation in Engineering programme can be completed in 1 year.

Tuition Fees: RM17,000 per programme.
Other Fees:
- Registration Fee: RM1,348 one-time payment
- Medical Insurance: RM88/year for duration of study
- Resource Fee (Library, Student Activity & Service): RM780 twice a year
- Accommodation Advance Fee (if applicable): RM250 one-time payment
- Monthly Fee for Accommodation (if applicable): Starting from RM270/month.

Tuition Fees: USD5,000 (RM20,000) per programme.
Other Fees:
- VISA & Application Fee: USD787.50 (RM3,150) one-time payment

Flexible payment options are available, where student may:
- pay full in advance, or
- by monthly installments, or
- pay full 2 weeks before the semester's final examination.

+ ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
For Malaysian Students:
- SPM (Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia)
Pass SPM or equivalent with minimum credits (grade C) in 5 subjects inclusive Bahasa Inggeris, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics & Physics and a pass in Chemistry (min. grade E). - O-Level
Pass O-Level from institution recognised by Government of Malaysia with minimum credit (grade C) in 5 subjects inclusive Bahasa Inggeris, Mathematics, Physics or Add Maths and Pass in Chemistry (min. grade E). - IGCSE (International General Certificate of Secondary Education)
Pass IGCSE from institution recognised by Government of Malaysia with minimum credit (grade C) in 5 subjects inclusive Bahasa Inggeris, Mathematics, Physics or Add Maths and Pass in Chemistry (min. grade E). - UEC (Unified Examination Certificate)
Pass UEC with a minimum of grade B in 3 subjects inclusive Bahasa Inggeris, Mathematics / Advance Mathematics and Physics / any subject and a pass in Chemistry (min. grade E). - Others

International students are required to have one of the English proficiency score stated below to enrol in UNITEN. Foundation students who do not fulfill this English requirement are required to sit for the Test of English Proficiency (TEP) before they could enroll in the English Short Course (ESC).
